The White Mountains, the lakes region, and the Mt. Sunapee area all have very active private rentals. If you don't find a property or the availability you need among our offerings, you may wish to consult a rental agency. Bear in mind that both the property owner and the agency make money in that scenario. Private rentals can be much more costly.
NH's cabins and cottages in are quite diverse. We define any stand-alone building, meant to only accommodate one guest family, as a cabin or cottage. Property owners sometimes identify them by other names: chalet, lodge, etc.
Waterfront cottages are easily found in the lakes region and the north woods but are much less common elsewhere. Those elsewhere found are often in campgrounds.
Many offerings are only available for 2 or 3 seasons except in the north woods where winter rentals are common, but always call to confirm availability. Except in the lakes region and somewhat in the White Mountains, most cabins and cottages tend to be a few or more miles outside the main tourist areas.
